About Stuart Stuart

Stuart has already produced more music than most audio professionals twice his age. Stuart has quickly developed a reputation as the producer to see when you’re ready to do it right.

A musician since he was 7, Stuart is a talented multi-instrumentalist. He starting working with computer sequencers at 14, multi-track recorders at 15, and has grown up to become one of the most proficient users of new music technology in Australia. He’s even written for audio magazines. Stuart is signed to Mushroom Music, a result of being signed to Mushroom Records in 1999. He has been a full-time professional music producer since 1998. This is all he does, and all he has done, for more than 15 years.

He has played in original bands, cover bands, stage bands and concert bands. He has seen music from just about every angle. He has met pretty much every person you’d want to meet in the Australian music business and soaked it all up. He has been at the ARIAs while an Analog Heart client was on stage receiving an award, and he has shared beers and tears with a band who were dropped from a major label after only two singles. His recordings have been on every major radio station in Australia, and many stations overseas. He has seen all of the bullshit of the music business, and also the genuine people who do it for the music. Unsurprisingly, they are the ones still in the industry.

At heart, Stuart is a mega music fan first. He has never worked on a per hour rate, only a rate per song. And that’s a critical difference. In his mind, the song isn’t done until it is RIGHT. He is proud of each and every track he produces and will not rest until he has gotten the best out of every part, and every player. His level of pre-production will surprise you – before you record a note, Stuart will understand your music inside and out.

Unlike other studios, recording at Analog Heart with Stuart will push you as a musician and bring out a level of creativity and performance you didn’t expect. Stuart is not some by-the-hour mixing desk jockey. He will get INVOLVED in your music and really work WITH you to create your musical vision. He will tell you when you suck and tell you when you have hit upon something truly great.

It’s no coincidence that at least three-quarters of our studio time is filled with repeat customers. Once people record here, they rarely go anywhere else.
